About us

A 100% Local Brand

All our clothing is designed and manufactured in our workshop in Geneva.

Handmade

Each material is repurposed to become a unique piece.

Ethical & sustainable

We give a second life to antique fabrics.

Mélanie Hearnden founded the Melane workshop 20 years ago in Geneva after training in Haute Couture as a stylist/pattern maker. She creates custom designs for a circle of clients looking for unique pieces, designed and manufactured locally.

Her collections are essentially made of natural materials, enhanced with delicately cut lace or antique fabrics sourced and repurposed to become a unique piece.

Raquel Staedler is a nomadic producer and entrepreneur, traveling between Geneva, Paris, Cape Town, and Marrakech. She settled in Geneva and founded Super Production Sarl in 2009, to produce campaigns for major luxury and fashion brands such as Hermès, Prada, Rolex, Audemars Piguet, and Missoni.

After years of collaborating on projects for major fashion brands, with a keen eye, Mélanie and Raquel decided to create an upcycling collective named Mademoiselle Haidi, a name given in homage to a grandmother who bequeathed them her stock of patchwork fabrics to make good use of them.

They share their passion for creation, travel, as well as beautiful materials and vintage fabrics.

They offer a 100% local brand, handmade with love, ethical and sustainable.

Each piece is made from blankets, throws, and tablecloths, mostly antique, recovered and/or sourced from all over the world.
